Enjoy the glow — safely
At Bronte Beach, we want your candle experience to be as safe as it is soothing. Please take a moment to read through these simple, essential tips for burning your candles responsibly.
Top Safety Tips
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Always extinguish your candle when leaving the room or going to sleep.Keep candles away from anything flammable.
Place candles at least 30cm away from curtains, books, paper, and other materials.Burn candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
Make sure your candle is on a flat surface where it can’t be knocked over.Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
This helps prevent the jar from overheating and ensures even burning.
Before You Burn
Trim the wick to 5mm before each use.
This prevents excessive flickering and soot buildup.Let the wax pool fully melt across the top (especially on the first burn).
This prevents tunneling and helps your candle last longer.
When to Stop Burning
Discontinue use when 1cm of wax remains.
Burning to the bottom of the jar can cause overheating and potential breakage.
Candle Etiquette
Use a snuffer to extinguish your candle instead of blowing it out (helps reduce smoke).
Store your candles in a cool, dry place — away from direct sunlight to preserve the scent.
Don’t move a lit candle. Always wait until the wax has fully solidified before handling.
After the Burn
Clean out the jar with warm soapy water and reuse it — or take part in our [Refill Program ➝] for a more sustainable glow.
